what makes new day different?
On the surface, New Day doesn't appear much different than many other churches. We worship on Sundays, read from the Bible and pray together, encourage folks to share their faith with those they meet, go on mission trips, perform acts of kindness in the community along with welcoming people to our facility.
And when you get down to it, a lot of Christian churches believe similar things. For a breakdown of our specific beliefs (about the Bible, the Trinity, etc) click here.
Of course the best way to figure out how we're different is to come spend some time with us! It's hard to describe a community, especially one that is constantly transforming as we seek God's will for our members. But we'll try and paint a picture for you.
Let's start with our vision statement:
As New Day Community, we are followers of Jesus, called to destroy evil, restore lives and show the love of God.
We actually believe that our vision is fulfilled in reverse order. That by showing the love of God to others we help restore our own lives and the lives of others. And when lives are restored, the evil that surrounds us is destroyed.
Stockton is considered one of the most miserable cities in the United States. But we believe that God is calling us to restore lives and destroy evil here.
